I am so glad to be able to share this information with everyone. There is actually an ACA Retreat! This is the 28th year for the ACA Mingus Mountain Retreat just outside of Prescott, Arizona. Who Knew!! We ACA’s are not always the best at tooting our own horns… lol
The Mingus Mountain Retreat is located just outside of Prescott, Arizona. The retreat will be held September 6-8th, 2013.
Please go check out all the details for this retreat on the Arizona Intergroup Website. Everyone have a good time!!

I was a bit concerned when i googled “How to start an ACA meeting” . The search came up with out an intergroup in Arizona. In regards to this Arizona intergroup’s “safety policy” banning members etc.. I read something to the effect “they could give them a “chore” or something so the “UNSAFE” member could rejoin the group” “earn back” membership. red flags!!! I also sensed on a very high level this Arizona Intergroup seems to be speaking for all of ACA.
This scares me a lot and reminds me of, having been banned from an “authority figure” at ACA WSO forum before it’s sickness and LACK of group conscience collapsed on itself. I sense some very strange things going on in ACA recovery. As they say in N.A, Tradition Two. : “There is a vast difference of a group conscience and group opinion which can DRASTICALLY be effected by powerful personalities.” Sadly, I sense more sick control. I don’t mean to be a party pooper. Thank You Lexxie for the topic.

Wow, Patrick, I have never heard that about group conscience and group opinion… and I agree, powerful personalities can be difficult to challenge, especially if someone is new in a program… and not everyone fits into every group. If that were true, we would only need one group per city, which is definitely not the case! Thank you for you input.

Seems when I researched this retreat years ago connected to ACA and the Traditions etc I decided to be leary about what killed ACA and what might keep it from growing.
This seemed very commercial when I investigated and more “other supporting” “than self supporting”. What does “effect a twelve step fellowship as a whole. Why is Arizona seem to be trying to be a front running in the “RE-building ” years. A lot of enfluence in Arizona. I cant help but to wonder about the health of these so many enfluencing I hope they have a “GOOD ACA message” in Arizona. And not a lot of what I see in the current ACA movement.
